Thank you to everyone who joined us for last week's CCE Nassau Farmers Market!

On Saturday, we focused on helping families prepare for the upcoming school season. As always, we encourage parents to shop local when getting ready for those busy back to school weeks. It was wonderful to see so many children at the market enjoying the fresh air and community atmosphere.

A special thank you to Kathy from BackyardBees for her informative presentation on using local honey to sweeten your morning coffee. Not only is it a delicious alternative, but it's also a great way to support local producers while making healthier choices.

We look forward to seeing you at our next market for more opportunities to support local vendors, connect with the community, and enjoy exciting educational programs and activities!

We will be open from 11:00am - 2:00pm every Wednesday until October 28th.

🐝 Today, we're celebrating one of nature's hardest workers, the honey bee!

From producing the honey we love to helping pollinate many of the fruits, vegetables, and flowers we enjoy, honey bees play a critical role in our environment and food system. Their impact reaches far beyond the hive, making our world more vibrant and productive.

On Saturday, August 15th, we are celebrating NATIONAL HONEY BEE DAY! Join us in showing appreciation for this incredibly important pollinator, with fun facts and resources about honey and the honey bee, themed youth activities, as well as special programming by market beekeeper Backyard Bees! 🐝

⚡️We will also have special guests from Drive Electric LI, with resources on electric vehicles!⚡️

There is an AMAZING line-up for this weekend – it is definitely a day you don't want to miss. Hope to see you Saturday!

Kids from the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House at Lincoln House recently spent a day at Jones Beach getting a closer look at the marine life right along Long Island’s shoreline.

They waded into the water with nets, explored sea life and learned some practical water safety skills, including what to do if they’re caught in a rip current.

The Marine Summer Field Trip Program is a collaboration between Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County, New York Sea Grant and NY State Parks & Historic Sites. Each summer, several hundred kids from youth organizations across Nassau County take part, learning about local marine life, water safety and how to care for coastal environments.

News 12 Long Island's Cecilia Dowd joined the group for a day at the beach and shared a look at the program.

Marine field trip to Jones Beach lets kids explore the seashore Marine camp at Jones Beach allows kids to explore sea life, walk the shoreline and learn about endangered animals and water safety.
