Sometimes planning these themed craft nights can be such a challenge but I’ve learned to pair premade characters with classic art prompts can be the MOST fun outcomes.

☀️☀️iiiiit’s Pool Party Theme! ☀️☀️
Here’s what was set up for the toddlers yesterday to jumpstart the week. You can see there are stations/tables around the room where you can almost always expect the same materials to use. Like the paint station and collage station.
The older kids get to enjoy the same things (for the most part) plus sit down projects the entire class does together.
Sometimes I give examples for inspiration, other times I leave the materials out to see what they can create and come up with on their own. 💫
There’s a few spots left in Thursday’s after school Art Play group (5-8yrs) and drop-ins available for the toddler group Friday am. 💕 Leave the mess for me and come hang!

I’ll be honest. Creating these themed craft nights have been the hit of all hits however planning for them has been a challenge. Researching and coming up with ideas is a huge fav of mine. But most of these themes don’t come with craft ideas on the internet to bounce ideas off of.
After months of searching different ideas, I saw one artist add googley eyes. And there it was. Main craft idea unlocked.
Then. As usual. The kids knocked it out of the park using their own creative spin. 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Bluey night was a success!
It was a stretch to include a stitching project for the youngest in attendance for these workshops. But they knocked it out of the park, honestly.
We remind ourselves that we can at least try. And if we try once then we may just try again. 😬 Then we can move on to markers and stickers. But the important part is that they
T R I E D!
Plus - That little tried stitch or two will look so good at home on their wall. 🤗

It’s my birthday 🥳 AND I get to see the cover we’ve been waiting for! 😭🫶 What a gift!!!
My husband and I have always known Niantic would hold a place in our hearts long before moving to East Lyme. And I can’t help but get emotional that it’s been through a kids art studio, of all ways.

Ocean Wonders week ended our 5 week session with a calmness I think we all need during the month of May. 🤪
And there’s nothing like including ocean blues and neutrals to help with that. 🌊🐚
