It will help your kids stay engaged with band, help them improve with their playing, and it will give them something to do (not studying or playing video games, etc). If you have any questions, you may post here or email me at: Masmith@ELPotters. School Thank you and I hope to see you soon!

Today is a great day to practice your instruments (I know you can find 20-30 min in the day).

12/10/2019

Need some ideas for stocking stuffers or a big gift for your special musician? Here are some ideas:
1. Cleaning kits for the instruments
2. Reeds
3. Cork grease
4. Valve or slide oil
5. An easy music book (specific to your child’s instrument and to music that your student likes. For ex: Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney songs).
6. A new instrument (if not paying for one already).
7. Drum sticks (who couldn’t use a pair)
8. Musical stuff (pensicls, hats, scarf, button, tumblers, etc)
9. Lessons (from Music& Arts, DC Music, me)
10. Chocolate and/or candy (just threw that in there to see if you were paying attention)
Have a nice Break everyone (and practice, practice, practice)!

The band schedule will be the same as usual with the exception of Wednesday. This Wednesday I would like to meet with the whole band. (For 5th grade and 6th grade).
This means that you will have band two times this week (except trumpets who normally have band on Wed). Bring your instruments and music. Thank you!

11/24/2019

The bands will only have two days of band this week so here is the schedule:
Both 5th and 6th grade
Monday= flutes, Clarinets, and saxophones
Tuesday=trumpets, trombone, baritones and percussion

**Then take your instrument home for the holiday and PRACTICE. Have a nice Thanksgiving!**

10/07/2019

If you are in the 5th grade band, you should be getting a methods book (it is the book that we use for instruction and for music this year). You may write a check to Music & Arts or pay cash ($9.00 for all instruments and $11.00 for percussion). We are finally getting instruments together in time to play a few notes, so it is time to practice those notes at home as well. Have a great week!
