Grapes and Olives
When I awoke this morning and began listening to the streaming audio from my Bible app, the Lord began to speak to me about grapes and olives. What was being spoken into my spirit wasn't related to what I was listening to, but this is what I was being fed in the Spirit: It was all for me personally, but also for anyone else who is in the body of Christ that has an ear to hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches…
Are you one with God the Father, through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, by the Holy Ghost dwelling within your earthen vessel? Have you received the baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues like they did on the day of Pentecost since you believed? Do you bear the fruits of the Spirit in every thing you do, in every word you speak, regardless of what circumstances or situations arise in this life? If you are truly one with God the Father, you would be holy, for He is Holy.
We are told in Scripture to be holy in all manner of conversation. Did you know that conversation is not merely about what we say amongst ourselves with others?
The first definition in the Noah Webster 1828 dictionary is 1. General course of manners; behavior; deportment; especially as it respects morals.
Let your conversation be as becometh the gospel. Philippians 1:27
1 Peter 1.15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1.16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
The trials and tribulations we face in this life come to try us so we can see what is truly within us, to perfect us just as Jesus Christ was perfected in His sufferings. When you face the trials and tribulations through your interactions with others, through the circumstances or situations that arise in this life, do you bear the fruits of the Spirit, or are your responses just like those of the world that know not God?
God was speaking with me about grapes and olives. To get the new w**e (or unfermented grape juice) from a grape, or oil from an olive, they have to be pressed. We have to ask ourselves when we are pressed, is the w**e that comes out of us sweet or bitter? When the pressure is on, is the oil that comes out of us sweet, or is it rancid and sour?
Matthew 15.11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Luke 6.45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
My pastor says that the fullness of the godhead depends upon us. What's inside of us dictates how full that fullness is going to be.
In the scriptures we are told that we are to be first partakers of the fruits. This includes the fruits of the Spirit. If the fullness of the godhead is within us, and we are always walking after the Spirit as we are commanded to do, then the fruits of the Spirit would be evident in every single thing we do, and in every single response we have to any and all circumstances or situations that arise in this life.
Galatians 5.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
5.23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
5.24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
5.25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Can we honestly say that we see these through our reactions to the people, circumstances or situations that we face in this life? We should always bear the fruits of the Spirit, regardless of what we face in this life, or whatever we may face in these earthen vessels.
2 Corinthians 12.9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
12.10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
If we can't see the fruits of the Spirit in our life, we need to be purged, purified and made new in mind, heart, soul and spirit. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. He can do this work within us whether or not we have received the full indwelling of the Spirit because when we received Christ into our hearts we received a portion of the Spirit, just not the full indwelling. Regardless, it is more beneficial to us if we are going to overcome this world and the lusts of the flesh that we receive the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
Being perfected from the inside out is the purpose for our trials, temptations and tribulations, to become the church that Jesus Christ is returning for. The church is the Bride of Christ. This means we have to be as He is, without blame, without spot and without wrinkle, unrebukable before God. We can only do this by the power of the Holy Ghost and walking in the Spirit.
Are you ready?
James 4.8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
4.9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
4.10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Just to be clear, I didn't learn this through someone's preaching, through a commentary I read, or even using Google. This came to me by way of the Holy Ghost within me.
John 14.26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
1 John 2.27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
