"You guys did what????" - Oh nothing, our UB students just had the opportunity to dissect some pig hearts!

Our students explored the anatomy and function of the cardiovascular system. This interactive lab allowed them an opportunity to identify major structures of the heart, including the chambers, valves, and blood vessels, while gaining a deeper understanding of how the heart works within the body.

June was a very busy time for Upward Bound students and staff. Our UB seniors ended one chapter and are beginning a new one. All UB students received recognition for their dedication to the program as well as their academics during UB's End-of-Year Banquet. Dr. Misti Harper (UNCP) and Mondale Patterson (UB Alum) shared their experiences, knowledge, and words of encouragement.

The month also marked an exciting beginning to our UB Summer Component as we welcomed both returning and new scholars. Click on the images and check out how our summer is going so far!
