Big thanks to MSUToday for highlighting our efforts to support schools across the state of Michigan by providing Mi-BTAM training throughout the summer and fall! We are thankful to everyone who participated, our lead instructors, the Michigan State Police Office of School Safety, and the Michigan Department of Education.

Please join us in welcoming Isabel Withrow, LMSW, to the Prevent 2 Protect Hub as our new Law Enforcement Analyst Assistant!

Isabel brings a perspective shaped by her work in school social work, behavioral threat assessment, crisis intervention, and law enforcement. She has worked alongside school teams and community partners to support students and families through complex situations. With a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, she’s also returning to the Spartan community.

We’re excited to have Isabel’s experience and collaborative spirit on the team. Welcome, Isabel!🤩

Another day of BTAM training is in the books—and we have one more to go!

Today, Prevent 2 Protect welcomed school and community partners for another session focused on putting Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management into practice. As schools prepare for the October 1 deadline under HB 5549, we’ve valued the chance to work through real questions together: How do teams recognize concerns, coordinate a response, and connect students with the support they need?
