Thank you to everyone who came out to our Ally Training workshop!
03/01/2021
MSUCOM LGBTA Ally Training is a workshop that aims to encourage understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity, intersectionality, and how to be an effective and informed ally.
Through interactive activities and guest speakers, this training will provide a basic framework for understanding the LGBTQ+ community and the unique challenges they often face. We will discuss intersectionality as a lens for studying the social determinants of health, health disparities, and promotion of health equity within the LGBTQ+ community.
Ally training will also include a workshop covering terminology used in the LGBTQ community, as well as guided self-reflection encouraging participants to explore their own biases and understanding with the aim of fostering knowledge and empathy.
We hope to see you.
