On May 3rd, 2026, The Peoples Church of East Lansing voted to become an Open and Affirming congregation. 186 - yes, 1 abstention, 0 - no votes. πŸ₯°πŸŒˆ Well done, Peoples Church! Well done!

The Council of Elders has called a Congregational Meeting for this Sunday, May 3, during the 10:30 a.m. service. We will be voting to approve The Peoples Church Open and Affirming statement. Copies of the statement can be found at the Welcome Desk near the northwest entrance. The Peoples Church Earth Stewardship Committee planted 15 trees on Saturday, April 11 at Union Missionary Baptist Church! 🌳
This event was led by the City of Lansing Forestry Director, Irene Cahill and Lansing’s Community Relations and Faith-Based Initiatives Director, Luci Solis. A huge thank you to our 100 participants (new attendance record in over 30 years!).

Our Earth Stewardship Committee hosted an early Earth Day presentation this past Sunday. Our guest speaker, Betty Seagull is the former president of both the Wild Ones Red Cedar Chapter and the Wildflower Association of Michigan. She spoke about native plants, and the many ways they bring life to everyone's garden πŸŒ±πŸ…πŸ«‘πŸŒŽ
