Teclado means Keyboard in Spanish. At Teclado Music Institute students of all ages, children to adults, learn how to play piano with proper fundamentals.

The curriculum is tailored for each individual. And like my dad used to say: "Play from the heart"

One of the most powerful piano habits you can build:
Practicing a little bit every single day beats cramming a lot into one session.
Short, consistent practice builds:

Stronger technique
Better muscle memory
Beautiful tone
Real musical joy (and no burnout!)

This is exactly how you learn to play from the heart.

At Teclado Music Institute, we help every student create simple daily routines that actually work — whether you have 15 minutes or 45.

Blue Boogie by Dennis Alexander from A Splash of Color Book 1. Judah's fingers are flying on this one. Although he is no longer in the studio this was a great recording from one of his lessons. These pieces are among the favorites of students because they are such fun to play.

Left Alone by Joyce Grill - Gabe 🎹

It's always fun to teach some left hand alone music. Students find it so fascinating that you are doing all of that with just one hand. Really cool effects that Gabe achieves here.

Starfish at Night by Anne Crosby Gaudet - Julian 🎹 - It is always fun to teach these types of pieces. Students enjoy them a lot, even though they are weird. They get to experience the whole keyboard and using pedal. Julian really feels the music deeply and musicality comes natural to him.

My dad used to always say this to me as I was practicing piano late in the night and he would come in from work and sit down to listen. He would say: "Do that again, but now, Play from the Heart." This has always stuck with me and I apply to my teaching and performing. In Teclado Music Institute we believe this at our core. 🎹💗

Practice a little bit every day. It is very hard to cram music to one practice session. Music needs to marinade and cook in your brain. If you try to do it all in one shot it won't taste, sound, or feel good. 😎🎹

Nathaniel has been crushing it! Highest overall score in the SAT (for piano) in level 11 and for that he performed at the CAMTA honors recital. A beautiful Chopin Nocturne, Op. 37 No. 1. Very proud of all the work he has done.
