Angela Penrose from Green Elementary, her husband Robert, and daughter Danica, an East Lansing High School student, recently traveled to Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, where they enjoyed sunshine, beach time, and making memories together along Florida's beautiful coastline. 🌊🏖️
Thank you for sharing your summer adventure with us!
Throughout the summer, we'll continue highlighting the many ways ELPS students, staff, and families are learning, growing, exploring, and creating memories. To submit your photos, email [email protected] with a brief description. We can't wait to see what your summer looks like!

Summer is a time for rest, recharge, and new experiences, and for some teachers, it's also an opportunity for professional learning. 📚
A big thank you to Red Cedar teachers Paige VanAtta, Anja Laretz, and Madelyn Panganis for representing our school at the KAT Summer Institute at Michigan State University. Through two days of literacy-focused learning and collaboration, they are bringing back new ideas and strategies to support readers in our classrooms.
We appreciate their commitment to continuous learning and their willingness to share what they've learned with colleagues and students.

Whether students choose college, enter the workforce, pursue skilled trades, join the military, or follow another path, we're proud of the goals they set and achieve. One of the many paths East Lansing graduates pursue after high school is higher education, with 76% enrolling in a two- or four-year college.

One photo. Hundreds of stories.
The East Lansing High School Class of 2026 came together one last time to capture a moment that represents so much more than a number. Each their own memories, accomplishments, challenges, friendships, passions, and plans for what comes next.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We can't wait to see where your stories go from here.

One of our favorite summer traditions is sharing special updates from our staff, families, and students. We're kicking things off with some exciting news from Robert L. Green Elementary!
Congratulations to Ms. Willson from Robert L. Green Elementary, who got engaged in May! Her students helped celebrate the exciting news with a sweet surprise of Ring Pops. 💍
We love seeing the special moments that make our staff members who they are, both inside and outside the classroom. Congratulations, Ms. Willson!

During the last week of school, several Marble students worked with our teachers to host a "Beach Day" Celebration for our amazing Marble Elementary Paraprofessionals! Students served yummy "sunshine smoothies" while our paras relaxed in their lounge chairs and listened to some sunshiny tunes. We are so lucky to have such dedicated, caring paras working with our students each day!
