Reminder: MCTE's Fall Conference is one week from today (10/16) at the Kellogg Center on MSU's campus. This year's theme is "Writing/Righting Our Place: Grounding Our Teaching Practices Where We Live."

The Red Cedar Writing Project will engage in a roundtable discussion during the pre-conference workshop happening on Thursday, October 15th from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Our roundtable discussion will focus on climate literacy and place-based writing using the NWP’s Write-Out collaboration with National Parks.

The registration deadline is Sunday, 10/11, at noon for the Thursday pre-conference event and Tuesday, 10/13, at noon for the Friday conference.

We are excited to share an upcoming poetry event titled "Life's Journeys: within you and without you." This poetry event will be led by three friends of the Red Cedar Writing Project: Mary Fox, Cheryl Caesar, and Marianne Peel.

This even takes place on Thursday, October 29th, from 6:30-8:00pm at the East Lansing Public Library located at 950 Abbot Road.

Unfortunately, the Red Cedar Writing Project has decided to postpone our annual Write Out event, originally scheduled for this Saturday, October 3.

Due to a number of scheduling conflicts, we have decided to reschedule the event for Spring/Summer 2027.

Please be on the lookout in the coming months for additional information regarding the new date and event details. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to gathering together for this Write Out event in 2027.
