🏡 Home Care – Brittany Bindschatel

Brittany has been a valued member of the Forster Woods team since 2018. She quickly demonstrated her leadership abilities and was promoted to Life Enrichment Coordinator. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brittany transitioned from our Day Program to Home Care, where she has remained dedicated to the same client ever since. Throughout her years of service, Brittany has consistently demonstrated kindness, compassion, reliability, and excellent communication. Her dedication has helped build a lasting relationship of trust and consistency with the family she serves, making her an incredible asset to both the family and Forster Woods. Brittany exemplifies the commitment and quality of care we strive to provide every day, and we are so grateful for her many years of service!

🌳 Day Program – Audrey S

Audrey is a wonderful example of the kindness, compassion, and dedication that make Forster Woods such a special place! She consistently treats our participants with kindness and respect, and her warm, welcoming greetings help ensure they feel seen, valued, and cared for each day. Although she has only been with us for a few months, Audrey has already made a lasting impression through her reliability, positive attitude, excellent communication, and eagerness to learn and lend a helping hand wherever needed. During our recent carnival, she jumped right in to help at the snack booth, making delicious snow cones and other treats for everyone to enjoy! Her willingness to step up and go above and beyond has made her a natural part of our team, and we are so thankful for the care and positivity she brings to our day center.

Brittany and Audrey, thank you both for the difference you make in the lives of those we serve and for being such wonderful members of our Forster Woods family. We are incredibly grateful for all you do! 💚

Apples, Apples EVERYWHERE! 🍂🍎

We had a bushel of fun at our Forster Woods Apple Fest! ❤️ From getting creative to enjoying delicious fall treats, our participants spent the day celebrating all things apples with hands-on activities, friendly challenges, and plenty of smiles! 🍁✨

🪚 Apple Cutouts: Our participants used the Chomp Saw to cut out apple shapes, practicing coordination, focus, and independence while getting creative!

🎨 Apple Painting: We brought our apples to life with colorful creations! Painting encourages self-expression, creativity, and fine motor skills.

🧺 Apple Picking: Our participants went on an apple-picking adventure, collecting apples for a chance to win a prize! 🏆🍎 But watch out… there was a poisonous apple hiding in the bunch! 😱☠️ This playful challenge encouraged focus, decision-making, and a little friendly excitement!

🥧 Apple Crisp Baking: Our participants rolled up their sleeves to help make homemade apple crisp! Baking encourages kitchen skills, following directions, teamwork, and independence.

😋 Apple Crisp Tasting: The best part? Enjoying the delicious treat we made together! Sharing our apple crisp gave us a chance to celebrate our hard work, connect with friends, and enjoy the flavors of fall.

🍎 Apple Stacking: We put our focus, patience, balance, and problem-solving skills to the test with an apple-stacking challenge and a little friendly competition!

🍏 Staff & MSU Nurse Apple Peeling Competition: The friendly competition didn’t stop with our participants! Our staff and MSU nurses went head-to-head to see who could peel an apple like a pro! 😂🍎 We loved having them join in the Apple Fest fun!

Every activity brought something special to our day, from building everyday skills to strengthening friendships and creating meaningful memories. At Forster Woods, learning and growing can be just as fun as it is rewarding! ❤️🍂

🎃 We’re keeping the Halloween spirit going at Forster Woods! 🐈‍⬛🧙‍♀️

👻 Halloween Crafts & Fall Cutouts
Our participants got creative making black cats and witches to celebrate the spooky season! These festive crafts provide opportunities for self-expression, creativity, and fine motor skill development while letting everyone show off their artistic side. 🎨🧡

🍂 Chomp Saw Creations
We used the Chomp Saw to cut out spooky haunted houses and fall shapes before painting our finished cutouts! This hands-on activity encourages coordination, focus, problem-solving, and independence while giving our participants the chance to bring their creative ideas to life. 🏠🎨

🎳 Bowling Fun
We enjoyed some friendly competition with a game of bowling! Bowling encourages hand-eye coordination, concentration, and motor skills while bringing everyone together for a little fun and social connection. 🎳😊

💪 Seated Exercises
We also made time to get moving with seated exercises! These activities help support strength, flexibility, mobility, and coordination while allowing participants to stay active at their own pace and ability level. 💛

We love seeing everyone get involved, try new things, and enjoy the season together! There’s always something fun happening at Forster Woods! 🍁🦇

Happy Friday, Forster Friends & Family! 🎃🧡🍂

We had a week full of fall creativity, friendly competition, and a little Halloween fun here at Forster Woods! From getting crafty to enjoying some of our favorite activities, there was plenty to keep us smiling! 🥰

🍫 We got into the Halloween spirit by making Halloween brownies! Our participants enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, working together, and making a sweet treat to enjoy. There’s nothing like a little baking to bring people together! 👻

🍁 Our ChompSaw creations brought a little more fall to Forster! Participants painted fall cutouts and made some spooky black cats to get ready for Halloween. These hands-on projects give everyone a chance to express their creativity, make their own choices, and take pride in something they helped create. 🎨🐈‍⬛

🌟 We also put together our fall vision boards! It was a fun way to celebrate the season, share ideas, and highlight the things that make fall special to each of us. We love seeing everyone’s personality shine through in their creations! 🍂

🎮 Between games of Donkey Kong and cards, there were plenty of opportunities for friendly competition, laughter, and time spent with friends. Games help keep our minds active, encourage problem-solving, and make room for those little moments of connection that mean so much! 🃏

💎 Our weekly jewelry club was back in action, too! From picking out colors to putting together their own designs, participants get to explore their creativity, practice fine motor skills, and enjoy a favorite activity alongside friends. We always love seeing everyone’s unique creations! ✨

🏈 And, of course, we made time for our weekly Sports Talk with Rob! It’s always a great opportunity to catch up on the latest sports news, share opinions, talk about favorite teams, and enjoy some friendly conversation. We love seeing everyone’s passion come through when it’s time to talk sports! ⚾🏀

It’s the shared laughs, meaningful connections, and everyday moments that make Forster Woods such a special place to be. ❤️

🌟 PARTICIPANT SPOTLIGHT: JENNY F. 🌟

Jenny brings so much joy, energy, and personality to Forster Woods! 💕 With her spunky spirit and bright smile, she has a way of making every day a little more fun. She loves being around people, spending time with friends and staff, and being part of whatever is happening around her. 🥰

One of the things we love most about Jenny is her willingness to try new things. She is truly a “go with the flow” kind of girl and is always ready to jump into a new activity or experience! Whether she’s getting creative with a craft, singing her heart out during karaoke 🎤, enjoying one of our musical guests 🎶, or trying something completely new, Jenny brings plenty of enthusiasm along with her.

From our everyday activities to our biggest special events, you can count on Jenny to be right there, making memories along the way. Her adventurous spirit, easygoing personality, and love for being around others make her such a special part of our Forster Woods family. 💗

October is an extra special month for Jenny because she celebrates her birthday on October 23! 🎃🎂 We are so happy to celebrate Jenny and all the joy she brings to our days!

🎃🐟 Fun, creativity, competition, and some new friends made for a great day at Forster Woods! 🐸💙

🎯 Scoop It gave our participants a chance to practice focus, hand-eye coordination, and quick thinking while enjoying a fun game together. It’s a great way to encourage problem-solving and friendly interaction while having plenty of laughs along the way! 😊

🎃 Our Chomp Saw was busy creating some spooky fun! Participants cut out their own Jack-O-Lanterns, giving them an opportunity to practice fine motor skills, coordination, and creativity while creating something they could be proud of. 🔨🧡

🏒 Air hockey brought out some friendly competition! This activity encourages concentration, hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and social interaction while giving participants a fun way to challenge themselves and enjoy time with their friends. 🙌

🐸🐟🦐 And we have some NEW friends in our tank! We welcomed an African Dwarf Frog and a Fire Honey Gourami to their new home, and we’re also excited to see some baby shrimp making their appearance! 🥹🫧💙 Our participants have enjoyed watching everyone explore and getting to know our newest little friends. Observing and caring for our tank encourages curiosity, conversation, and gives participants something exciting to check in on throughout the day.

✨ We love creating opportunities for our participants to try new things, build skills, connect with others, and enjoy their time together! ❤️
