We will be having our intro meeting this Wednesday, February 17th at 5:00pm, this is a MANDATORY SORA meeting. If you've participated in SORA in the past and have completed training, you do not need to attend. If this is your FIRST semester participating, you MUST attend.
Anyone interested in SORA, must be a due paying member.

Members: Don't forget to stop by the horseshoe today between 12:15 and 1:15pm to get free goodies and have all your questions about SAVS answered. If you're not a member, it's not too late to become one! We also have a few E-board positions open so come and see what those are all about :-)

SAVS E-board elections are closing next Friday (October 23rd). Even if you have already applied for a position, we request you re-apply due to “technical difficulties” with our survey.
Remember:
Not only is this a great resume builder, it also allows you to get hands on experience with the surgical issues of veterinary medicine. It’s a great way to see your ideas and interests get turned into amazing wet labs, lunch/dinner talks. In addition it is a great stepping-stone to working with clinicians and participating in surgical conferences that one can only get by being a part of SAVS!

Updates on upcoming SAVS events:
Tomorrow (10/14) join us & Feline Club in G150 at noon to hear Dr. Perry discuss feline orthopedic cases.
Saturday 10/17 we will have a suturing and knot tying station at the SCAVMA wetlab.
Tuesday 10/20 join us again with Feline Club for a feline declawing wetlab. Check your email for more info and the RSVP link!

SAVS will be having their first lunch meeting of the semester next Monday, September 28th. All those attending will have the pleasure to hear Dr. Jacob Rubin speak about renal transplants!

SAVS invites you to a Fracture Talk and Dry Lab with Dr. Decamp on April 22nd! We will limit both the talk and dry lab to 20 people. You must attend the lecture in order to attend the dry lab. Dr. Decamp will speak at 5pm in the cafeteria and the Dry Lab will take place in Jr. Surgery following his lecture. This will be free for members and $5 for non-members. Please be aware of SAVS no call no show wet lab policy: If you do not let us know in advance that you cannot attend, you will be unable to participate in the next wet lab.

SAVS & FAC are pleased to host a lunch lecture Monday, March 16th in A213 @ 12pm. Dr. Kinsley will be discussing the difference in C-sections in bovine and equine. Lunch (Panera Soup & Salad) will be provided for SAVS/FAC members and $5 for non-members. Food will be capped at 50 people (priority given to members) but all are welcome to attend!
