MSU GATE’s MSTL is a one-week summer commuter or residential program for academically talented students in grades 9–10, running June 22–26, 2026. Students take two STEM-based classes plus an enrichment class, with a focus on new developments in math, science, and technology and how those subjects connect to real career paths.
For girls who are curious, capable, and ready for more challenge, MSTL is a chance to build confidence, explore STEM in a deeper way, and learn in a setting designed for ambitious students. The program also emphasizes active learning, interdisciplinary problem-solving, and real-world applications.

MSU GATE’s CHAMP helps mathematically gifted students in grades 6–9 move through Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus in just two years, opening the door for AP, IB, or dual enrollment opportunities later on. It begins in Fall 2026 and is taught by Michigan State University faculty.

In CHAMP, students accelerate through Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus in just two years. In ASCEND, students work through advanced high school English, literature, writing, and humanities, studying novels, poetry, plays, biography, film, and major literary movements. In MANGA, students build their skills in Japanese language and culture at an accelerated pace, with the program leading into AP Japanese coursework.
