Lyman Briggs College - MSU

This upcoming fall semester, we are seeking alumni volunteers to help with mock interviews as pre-health students prepare for their next steps as professionals.

Health professional school interviews can be a major source of stress for students, and thoughtful guidance from alumni who have been through the process can make a meaningful difference.

Please note: We are looking for medical/PA/dental students or graduates who may be available for one or more 1-hour virtual meetings (set by you and a student participant) the weeks of August 17 and August 24.

Volunteer Expectations:

1. Virtually interview students via Zoom (Questions will be provided in advance)
2. Provide feedback to students
3. Engage in meaningful, supportive conversations with students
4. Watch a short orientation training video prior to the event

Happy Independence Day! 250 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was adopted, establishing the United States of America.

Today, we reflect on the ideals expressed in the Declaration—that "all are created equal" and endowed with the unalienable rights of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

As a community dedicated to learning, discovery, and the exchange of ideas, we wish our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends a safe and meaningful holiday.

Congratulations to the nine incoming first-year Lyman Briggs College students who have been awarded comprehensive scholarships through the MSU Honors College!

Two students were named Alumni Distinguished Scholars, while seven were recognized as Williams Scholars.

These prestigious awards were earned through a competitive process that included essays, a general knowledge exam, and faculty-staff interviews.

We look forward to welcoming these exceptional students to the Lyman Briggs community this fall.

Congratulations to Ellie Louson, an LBC Science and Society faculty member, on co-authoring the new book, "Leading Experiential Learning on Campus."

The book offers a vision for creating, leading, and sustaining experiential learning ecosystems in higher education.

Louson is also an educator developer with MSU's Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation and the Associate Director for Teaching and Learning at MSU CIRCLE.
