We're proud to share that the Granger Simulation Lab has received accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare for the first time.

Known as the gold standard in simulation education, this recognition reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences for future nurses. Home to the largest immersive simulation room of its kind in North America, the Granger Simulation Lab provides nursing students with realistic, hands-on experiences that help prepare them for clinical practice.

Congratulations to all who contributed to this achievement. 💚

Who’s ready for some soccer?

Join us for a quick tour of the College of Nursing—with a little soccer flair mixed in. While our halls may be a bit quieter during the summer months, there's still plenty to see around the College. 💚

Who will you be rooting for throughout the tournament?

We had a beary good time at the MSU Teddy Bear Health Fair! 🧸💚

The Michigan State University College of Nursing was proud to join families from across the community for this fun and educational event focused on health and wellness.

Our team shared information about the importance of HPV prevention, while Dr. Jiying Ling’s Food, Body & Mind research team engaged children in activities exploring their fruit and vegetable consumption habits.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our tables. We loved connecting with families and helping make health education fun for children of all ages!

Where can a nursing degree take you?

For Andrea Lachniet, earning her MSN from Michigan State University in 2016 led to a career as a nurse practitioner in Bozeman, Montana — where she’s able to combine patient care with a love for the outdoors.

From the clinic to the mountains, Andrea’s Spartan Nurse Nation story shows how MSU Nursing can help you build both a meaningful career and the life you want to live.

“Spartan Nurses are focusing on the nursing impacts on social determinants of health to further advance all aspects of healthcare.”
— Patty Katje, BSN ’20

The MSU College of Nursing was honored to welcome alumna Cindy Romano, BSN ’02, as the keynote speaker for this year’s graduation and pinning ceremony.

Through her work in healthcare and dedication to the nursing profession, Cindy inspired our newest Spartan nurses as they celebrated this incredible milestone and prepared to begin the next chapter of their journeys. Thank you, Cindy, for sharing your wisdom, encouragement, and passion with the Class of 2026.

As we celebrate Nurses Week, we’re reflecting on a memorable day for the Michigan State University College of Nursing Class of 2026 💚

Their hard work, compassion, and perseverance have prepared them to step confidently into the profession and make a meaningful impact in healthcare.

Congratulations to our newest Spartan Nurses, and Happy Nurses Week to all who continue to lead with care and compassion.

This Nurses Week, we are honored to share messages from our community partners who work closely with Spartan Nurses across Michigan.

Leaders from UM Health Sparrow, Henry Ford Health, and McLaren Greater Lansing—including Kathy Marble, Eric Wallis, and Julie Ashi—reflect on the importance of nursing and the lasting impact Spartan Nurses are making in their organizations and communities.

Their words highlight the collaboration, care, and commitment that define nursing at its best.

Thank you to our partners for helping celebrate and uplift the next generation of Spartan Nurses. 💚
