Spring Newsletter is here!! As the school year comes to an end, join us in celebrating our newest commissioned 2LTs and all the accomplishments of Spartan Battalion cadets this semester 💪

The Spartan Battalion would like to congratulate our Recruiting Operations Officer, Mr. Robert Sullivan, on his recent selection for promotion to Colonel! As you know, Mr. Sullivan has been the ROO in the Spartan Battalion for the last 10 years. What you may not know is that he is also an Army Reserve officer with over 22 years of experience on Active Duty and in the Army Reserve. Congratulations, LTC (P) Sullivan, on your selection for promotion, and thank you for all you do for the Spartan Battalion!

Yesterday morning, we had the honor of commissioning 13 outstanding cadets into the U.S. Army as Second Lieutenants. Their hard work, dedication, and leadership have brought them to this moment!

The Izzo Run/Walk/Roll is an annual event at Michigan State that supports all local nonprofits and The Izzo Legacy endowment. Awesome job to these cadets who showed up this morning and took on the 5k!!🔥👟

Immediately following the Change of Command ceremony, we held our Spring Awards Ceremony, recognizing several cadets for their outstanding effort, dedication, and contributions to the program this semester. Congratulations to all cadets for completing another semester!

This morning, we held our Change of Command ceremony, marking the transition of leadership to the next generation for the upcoming semester. Congratulations to all the incoming MSIVs and MSIIIs stepping into leadership roles—we’re excited to see what you accomplish!

MSIV staff ride to Gettysburg!🇺🇸

Cadets traveled down to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and explored the town, visited the museum, mural, and gift shops, then walked the battlefield presenting on their assigned figures and monuments. The trip concluded with additional time downtown to explore and some putt-putt!

Yesterday at lab, we ran a four-station round robin featuring a barricade range, POPs with the M240 and M249, and immediate action drills with the M4. We also got outside to practice gr***de throws in preparation for the course at CST. Great work, everyone!
