Join us for the 2026 Brownbag Seminar Series, convened under the Policy Prioritisation through Value Chain Analysis (PPVC) initiative. This virtual seminar series will showcase cutting-edge research and evidence from across the continent.

The seminars are structured around three thematic tracks:

🌱 Oilseeds
Exploring opportunities to strengthen soybean and sunflower value chains through improved productivity, processing, trade, and private sector investment.

🐄 Livestock & Fisheries
Examining pathways to enhance competitiveness, reduce feed constraints, improve market access, and strengthen animal-source food systems.

🌾 Cross-Border Trade in Horticulture & Grains
Assessing how trade, infrastructure, irrigation, and market reforms can support regional integration and agrifood competitiveness.

The LINGUA Africa Grant Call is now open, supporting projects that advance inclusive, high-performing AI for African languages.

Thousands of African languages remain underrepresented in AI, limiting access to education, healthcare, civic services, and economic opportunities. LINGUA Africa seeks to change that by investing in African-led language AI research, data creation, and real-world applications.

Successful projects will receive:
✅ Cash funding
✅ Azure and Google Cloud compute credits
✅ Technical collaboration and support

Priority areas include:

🏥 Healthcare
🏛️ Civic services

🌍 Reimagining the future of development through research, collaboration, and innovation.
The 2026 Science in Development workshop brought together global leaders in meta-science and research capacity strengthening to explore how the development community can move forward amid shifting landscapes in foreign aid and research funding.
AAP was proud to be part of this important conversation, with Dr. Amy Jamison contributing alongside partners from CEGA, The Mawazo Institute, DIV Fund, and the Institute for Progress.
Together, participants explored new pathways for inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven research ecosystems that strengthen global development outcomes.
