πŸ’š Thank You, Mrs. Jones! πŸ’š

Congratulations to Mrs. Jones as she retires after more than 25 years of service to the STA community.

For 10 of those years, Mrs. Jones served as a lead preschool teacher, nurturing, guiding, and inspiring our youngest learners. She then stepped into the role of Preschool Director, where she continued to shape the hearts and minds of countless children while supporting families and staff along the way.

Mrs. Jones has been a steady presence, a caring leader, and a loving influence in the lives of so many students. Her impact extends far beyond the classroom, and the seeds she planted in our preschool program will continue to grow for years to come.

Her legacy will live on as the STA community thanked her in a big way, surprising her with the Joan Jones Prayer and Learning Garden! While we will miss seeing her smiling face in our halls, we are so grateful for the dedication, compassion, and love she has shared with the STA community over the years.

Please join us in thanking Mrs. Jones for her incredible service and wishing her a retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and time spent with her grandbabies. Congratulations, Mrs. Jones, you will always be a part of the STA family! πŸ’š

πŸŽ“βœ¨ Kindergarten Graduation βœ¨πŸŽ“

Field day fun! Thursday was a fantastic day of fun, teamwork, and school spirit at STA! β˜€οΈπŸŽ‰

Our K-7 students enjoyed an action-packed Field Day filled with inflatables, a dunk tank, three-legged races, relay competitions, and so much more. One of the best parts of the day was seeing our amazing 7th graders step into leadership roles as team captains, guiding teams made up of students from every grade level and helping make the day a success for everyone.

The excitement continued in the afternoon with our annual Student vs. Staff Volleyball Game. The 7th graders gave it their all, but the teachers and priests came ready to play and successfully defended their title with a dominant victory! πŸπŸ˜‚

Meanwhile, our preschoolers had a blast at Water Day! From face painting and temporary tattoos to water tables, games, popsicles, and plenty of splashing fun, there were smiles everywhere.

To top it all off, the whole school enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch from Bell's Greek Pizza in East Lansing! πŸ•πŸ’¦

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these special end-of-year celebrations possible. Days like these remind us that some of the best school memories are made outside the classroom!

Today was a special day at St. Thomas Aquinas School! πŸ“šβ˜€οΈ

We were thrilled to welcome author, illustrator and STA parent Amy Dua, who visited with our Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students to share her newest book, Woe is Me…It’s Summer!, released today!

Students enjoyed hearing Amy read her delightful story, learning about the writing and illustrating process, and celebrating the joy of reading together. Thank you, Amy, for inspiring our young readers and making this book launch day one to remember!

Congratulations on the release of Woe is Me… It’s Summer! πŸŽ‰πŸ“–

Our STA community celebrated our 8th graders for a special graduation mass and reception that followed to send them into their future. These students have grown in faith, knowledge, leadership, and character during their years at STA, leaving a lasting mark on our school family.

As they begin their journey into high school, we pray that they continue to walk confidently in God's plan for their lives. May they carry with them the values they have learned, the friendships they have built, and the faith that has guided them through each step of their STA journey.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We are so proud of the young men and women you have become. May God bless you as you begin this exciting new chapter. πŸŽ“βœοΈ

Today, two beautiful journeys crossed paths at STA. πŸŽ“

Our preschool graduates took their first big steps toward the β€œbig school,” full of wonder, excitement, and dreams as they prepare for kindergarten this fall. At the very same time, our 8th graders walked the halls of STA one last time before beginning their next chapter in high school.

One group is just beginning their story with nervous smiles and tiny backpacks. The other leaves behind years of memories, friendships, faith, leadership, and growth. Yet somehow, they are so alike- full of hope, possibility, and the promise of what’s ahead.

Watching these two worlds collide is a powerful reminder of what makes our STA family so special. We have the privilege of watching children grow from little learners into confident young men and women ready to take on the world.

To our preschoolers: we cannot wait to watch you shine in kindergarten. To our 8th graders: thank you for the legacy you leave behind. We are endlessly proud of who you have become and all that you will accomplish.

No matter where life takes you next, you will always have a home at STA. πŸ’šπŸ€

Congratulations to our Kelleigh’s Cross and Jean Rambo Award recipients! ✝️

These special awards were presented during our beautiful May Crowning school Mass, where students honored our Blessed Mother Mary by showering her with flower bouquets in a joyful celebration of faith and love. 🌸

The Kelleigh’s Cross Award is presented to a current 5th grade student who exemplifies the Catholic faith each day through kindness, service, and quiet leadership within our school community. The recipient is honored with a Celtic cross necklace and a scholarship. Congratulations to Isaac and Audrey, our 2026 recipients!

The Jean Rambo Award is presented to a current 3rd grade student who faithfully lives out their Catholic values and serves as a positive example to others. This special honor includes a full scholarship for their 4th grade year. Congratulations, Matthias!!!

We are so proud of these students for being shining examples of faith, character, and leadership at St. Thomas Aquinas! πŸ’šπŸ€
