Today, Kevin M. Guskiewicz announced he will remain at Michigan State University and continue serving as president.

“My commitment is to continue showing up every day with energy, humility and purpose — to listen carefully, engage openly and lead in a way that reflects the values of this university and the confidence you place in me.”

As a kid, Randy Cowen spent countless hours in Michigan State University physics labs alongside his father, Professor Jerry Cowen. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for discovery and the people behind it.

Today, the Cowen family is carrying that legacy forward with a $10 million gift supporting the MSU College of Natural Science, the Leinweber Center for Engineering and Digital Innovation and a new endowed chair in physics.

Their investment will help support world-class faculty, prepare future physicists and fuel the discoveries that shape our understanding of the world.
