Congratulations to Goodwin University’s newest Practical Nursing (LPN) and Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) students who recently celebrated their Pinning Ceremonies! 🎓💙

The nursing pin represents more than completing a program — it reflects the dedication, compassion, resilience, and countless hours of hands-on learning that brought our students to this moment.

We’re incredibly proud of everything our newest nursing graduates have accomplished and can’t wait to see the difference they make in the lives of their future patients and communities.

We would love to invite you to the 25th Anniversary of the Day That Changed & Shaped Our Nation. On Friday, September 11, 2026, Goodwin University will be hosting "Our Day Of Remembrance" at The Fallen Star Memorial on campus at 10AM.

The program is open to the public and we encourage Goodwin University faculty, staff and students to join us as the Town of East Hartford honors and pays tribute to our First Responders, Military, and those who perished on 9/11/2001.

Education and workforce development go hand in hand — but cost and flexibility can often stand in the way.

Goodwin University is partnering with 3SquaresVT to offer eligible Vermont residents no-cost, flexible online education and job-skills training, making Goodwin the state’s first collegiate provider through the program. The partnership expands access to education while helping connect Vermont residents with the skills and credentials needed to pursue in-demand career opportunities.

Participants can choose from a range of pathways, including associate degrees in Funeral Service, Human Services, and Business Administration; a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding; and short-term training in areas such as healthcare, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, business administration, and digital skills.

Summer semester: almost complete! ☀️📚

As classes wrap up this Sunday, August 23, we want to congratulate all of our Goodwin students who put in the work, stayed focused, and kept moving forward these past few months. You did it! 👏

Summer Break runs August 24–September 7, so take some well-earned time to relax, recharge, and be proud of everything you accomplished.

Meet GEARY-Y 🤖🔥 Goodwin’s newest welding ambassador, built to show what can happen when creativity, craftsmanship, and a pile of scrap come together.

First-semester welding student Henry Davis, with help from Instructor Shamus Holcomb, created GEARY-Y using donated automotive parts that once belonged to everything from a Ford pickup truck and Chevy engine to a Kubota tractor, Honda, Dodge, and Cadillac.

What might look like scrap to some became something entirely different in the hands of a welder. GEARY-Y is proof that with the right skills and a little imagination, pieces from completely different places can come together to create something marvelous.

And rumor has it... he never sleeps.

Sometimes, finding your purpose starts with a single moment. 💙

For Goodwin University Medical Assisting graduate Maria Paradis, that moment came during an ordinary shift at Hallmark, when a longtime customer suddenly collapsed. Drawing on her CPR training, Maria stepped in to help, an experience that showed her just how much of a difference she could make in someone’s life.

That realization eventually brought Maria to Goodwin, where she earned her Medical Assisting certificate and associate degree and completed an externship at Connecticut Children's. More than a decade later, she’s still there, providing compassionate care to children and families while mentoring the next generation of medical assistants.

“I felt like I had found my purpose.”

🩸 Roll up your sleeve and support our students!

Goodwin’s Phlebotomy Excellence Clinic is back! Members of the Goodwin community, including students ages 18+, faculty, and staff, are invited to volunteer as our Advanced Phlebotomy students in the PCA program practice their venipuncture techniques.

Under the supervision of our Phlebotomy Instructor and Program Coordinator, students will gain valuable hands-on experience while building their skills and confidence.

Today’s First-Generation Friday spotlight features Jessica Lampart, a Nursing student at Goodwin University.

Driven by a passion for helping others, Jessica came to the United States to pursue a career in nursing and create a brighter future for herself and her family.

As the first in her family to attend college, Jessica sees her education as more than a personal achievement. It's an opportunity to break barriers, open doors for future generations, and make a difference through compassion, healing, and service.
