Our faculty and staff are learners, too!

Today, we were excited to welcome Lauren Mitsis to Franklin Academy to provide Orton-Gillingham training for members of our team.

Ongoing professional learning is an important part of how we continue to strengthen the support we provide our students. By expanding the strategies, approaches, and tools available to our educators, we are better able to respond to the individual ways our students learn.

A New Space for Student Success!

We’re excited to introduce Franklin Academy’s new Student Success Lounge - another intentionally designed, student-centered space created to support the many ways our students learn, organize, connect, and grow.

The Student Success Lounge gives students a comfortable place to work independently or collaborate in small groups, while also providing easy access to the resources they may need throughout the school day. Whether a student is looking for academic support in a class, meeting with their Academic Advisor, printing their schedule from the touchscreen kiosk, or simply giving their technology a quick charge, this space was designed with student success in mind!

At Franklin Academy, supporting students means thinking beyond the classroom and creating environments that encourage independence, confidence, and connection.

We are especially grateful to the families of the 2025–2026 academic year, whose extraordinary generosity helped make this new space possible. Thank you for continuing to invest in the experiences and opportunities available to Franklin students!

We’re excited to welcome back our 2026–2027 Franklin Academy Faculty & Staff! 🎉

Today officially kicked off our two-week, all-staff in-service and training, as we come together to prepare for an incredible year ahead. Over the next two weeks, our faculty and staff will learn together, plan together, and continue strengthening the community that makes Franklin such a special place for our students!

The day may have been filled with rain, but that didn’t stop us from welcoming our 2026–2027 Franklin College Connections cohort to Franklin Academy!

Thank you to members of our Cabinet and FCC Director Kevin O’Brien for helping officially welcome our newest students and set the tone for the year ahead.

And while the rain may have followed us throughout the day, there was no better way to end it than gathered around the campfire. 🔥

Every new journey begins with a spark. Tonight, we lit the fire on a year of new connections, new possibilities, and plenty of opportunities.

Behind every strong start is a team doing the work long before the doors officially open. This week, our Leadership Team (Associate Deans, Directors, Counselors & Academic Chairs) has been on campus preparing, planning, collaborating, and making sure the pieces are in place for the year ahead!

From academic programming and student support to operations, communication, student life, and everything in between, this group plays an important role in shaping the experience our students, families, faculty, and staff have at Franklin Academy. We’re grateful for their leadership, their partnership, and the energy they’ve brought to campus this week!

Now, we’re ready for the next step: welcoming our entire Faculty & Staff community back to Franklin Academy on Monday!

There’s a different kind of energy on campus this week.

Our new faculty and staff members are beginning their Franklin journey, while our Leadership Team is coming together to prepare, align, and build momentum for the year ahead.

For our newest colleagues, these first days are about learning the Franklin community, meeting the people behind the mission, and discovering what it means to help students Belong, Grow, and Succeed. For our leaders, it’s about making sure the foundation is in place for an exceptional start to the year.

And we’re just getting started.

Next week, our full faculty and staff community returns—and Franklin Academy will truly be back in full swing!
