A Community Effort
Social and Emotional Learning was discussed in depth by a panel of experts and members of the East Greenwich community. Those in attendance heard of challenges, solutions, and possible future endeavors.
Special thanks go to the Kent County Prevention Coalition and all of those who took part in this important discussion. We will be continuing our series by examining the impact Social Media has on our young people, August 23rd, from 6:00-7:30 PM at the East Greenwich Library.
Stress, anxiety, depression and loneliness are all conditions that have increasingly impacted young people. All to often substance use/misuse is seen as a possible solution–leading to additional issues.

Social and Emotional Learning

Please come and join us as we highlight the importance of social/emotional learning as it pertains to young learners. This two-part series will include insight from educators, mental health experts, and engaged youth. They all will be providing valuable information regarding a truly important topic. Sure, it’s summer, and you are busy, but this series of workshops will examine a few of the most salient concerns presenting kids these days. A child’s school experience has a powerful impact on their mental health and self esteem. Let’s explore ways that parents and the community can be of support.
