Cancer Exercise Trainer (CCET )performs appropriate fitness assessments and makes exercise recommendations while demonstrating a basic understanding of cancer diagnoses, surgeries, treatments, symptoms and side effects. While rest is very important, taking an active role in your own recovery is essential to becoming whole again. Cancer Well-fit™ is an award-winning exercise program designed specif
ically for patients who are undergoing or have already undergone cancer treatment. Cancer Well-fit is a fourteen week program, consisting of ten weeks of supervised exercise sessions and an additional four weeks of open membership. As a part of the program, patients are welcome to invite a supportive friend or family member to participate along with them. Participants will sign up for structured one-hour classes, held twice weekly for the first ten weeks, at either the East Hills Athletic Club or the Michigan Athletic Club (MAC). Classes focus on progressive strength training and aerobic and flexibility exercises. Cancer Well-fit trainers are nationally-certified and work with individuals to design and implement a program specific to their needs and abilities.
