🍽️ A Taste of Culinary Excellence at Ivy Tech Lake County! 👨‍🍳✨

What an incredible showcase of talent, creativity, and skill! Chef Darrick and our Culinary Department hosted a fantastic faculty and staff luncheon highlighting the techniques and expertise our future chefs have developed throughout the term.

From mini short rib shepherd’s pies and shrimp Parmesan grit cakes to sweet and tangy pork belly bites, every dish showcased the students’ growing culinary skills and attention to detail. Fresh Caesar salad, Caprese skewers with basil pesto, and freshly baked yeast rolls brought delicious variety to the menu, while pumpkin mousse cups, caramel apple cheesecake bites, and chocolate chip cookies provided the perfect sweet finish! 🍂🥧

Congratulations to our aspiring chefs on an outstanding event! Your hard work, creativity, and dedication to excellence are preparing you to bring incredible food and unforgettable dining experiences to Northwest Indiana and beyond.

For World Mental Health Day, Ivy Tech Lake County set up a table at our Gary location to spread awareness, share a little sweetness, and remind students that their mental health matters. 🍬💚

But support goes beyond one day! Meet Dominique Jackson, LCSW, Director of Mental Health & Disability Support Services, IvyCares Lead, and Title IX Advocate. Dominique helps connect students with resources to support their well-being and success throughout their college journey.

🐾💚 A special visitor brought plenty of smiles to Ivy Tech Lake County this week!

Please help us thank Tech the Therapy Dog from Tech Community College South Bend-Elkhart for stopping by campus to spread comfort, joy, and a little extra happiness. From wagging tails to friendly cuddles, Tech brightened the day for students, faculty, and staff alike.

Whether it was a quick pet between classes or a much-needed moment to relax, Tech reminded us all of the power of kindness, connection, and four-legged friendship. 🐶✨
