Father Thomas shares that his sister, Joan Beck, passed away on Saturday, February 28. He is deeply grateful for your prayers and condolences during this time.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. All are welcome to join in prayer for the repose of her soul.

This last weekend, during the 2nd Sunday of Lent, we happily celebrated the OCIA Rite of Election at the 10AM Mass. It was a special and meaningful moment as our catechumens were presented to our church community.

Please keep them in your prayers as they continue their preparation for the Sacraments at Easter. We look forward with joyful anticipation to welcoming them into the full life of the Church.

A beautiful Lenten tradition at St. Bart's, sponsored by our Altar Rosary Society, was our Lenten Night of Recollection, last Thursday, February 19. We gathered for prayer and reflection with Father Thomas followed by a simple Soup Supper --an encouraging and grace-filled way to begin this holy season together. Today, Ash Wednesday we begin the Holy season of Lent--a sacred gift of 40 days devoted to prayer, fasting and almsgiving. As we receive blessed ashes, we are reminded not only of our mortality, but of God's infinite mercy and His eternal, abiding love. Together, may this Lenten journey renew our hearts, deepen our faith and draw us closer to the Lord.

Today, on World Marriage Day, we celebrate the beautiful vocation of Marriage. In the Diocese of Metuchen, we honor the couples who walk this path together, reflecting Christ’s love for the Church through their devotion, sacrifice, and joy.

A beautiful Candlemas and Novena celebration with our First Communicants last Monday, February 2. Father Thomas with Deacon Jack offered a special blessing during this time of prayer and reflection. Please keep these young hearts and their families in your prayers.

Following Masses this weekend, Father Tom and Father Peter offered the Anointing of the Sick, a beautiful sacrament of healing, strength, and God’s loving presence.
