In this shot, a student is correctly "anchoring" using their pinkie for stability as they cover up a model's knee scar. Their left hand is in position to help stretch the skin taut if need be.

When tattooing permanent makeup, it's important to stretch the skin taut.

Human skin is naturally elastic and bouncy; if you try to tattoo loose skin, the skin will bounce and push back against the machine, fighting every stretch of the way. By stretching the skin taut, it creates resistance, allowing the needles to puncture the surface cleanly.

Here's what most people get wrong about Nano Brows for sparse brows:

They skip the mapping phase and jump straight to pigment. But if you don't define the shape and stroke direction first, you're guessing — not creating.

The fix? Map the boundaries first (pink lines), then plan each stroke to follow natural hair growth (blue lines). Upward at the front, horizontal in the middle, outward at the tail. That's how you get crisp, natural-looking results.

Before we pick up our permanent makeup machines, we need to visualize how the brow is going to lie. What direction are the hairs going to point? What looks the most "natural"? We never want to fight the client's innate anatomy; we adjust our designs to accentuate their most flattering features. After we take everything into account, we get to work. The end result? This is what hands-on training actually looks like.

Our instructors work alongside you, as you progress your PMU education. They adjust your hold, show you the correct way to hold the machine, and give you real-time feedback. That is the difference between a video tutorial and an instructor standing next to you the entire time.

Lip blush demands that level of attention. The tissue is thin, the margin for error is small, and pigment placement during the active procedure looks completely different from the healed result. You need someone who knows exactly what "correct" feels like under the needle — not just on paper.

This is the kind of before and after that makes you sit up and take notice. 😍

On top, we see the before shot — pale, almost faded, with a lip line that's barely visible. The pigment that should be there just isn't, and the vertical lines on the lips make the whole area look worn down.

Veer your gaze down and it's an entirely different story. Warm, vibrant reddish-orange that reads like a fresh coat of lipstick, except this one doesn't budge. The lip border is now sharp and symmetrical, creating that subtle "lip lift" illusion — the lips look fuller, defined, and honestly, like they've been awake all morning instead of half-asleep.

Quick lip blush fact: the lip area has some of the thinnest skin on the face, which is why so many clients come in with that faded, washed-out look over time. Lip blush doesn't just add color back — it redraws the border, softens those vertical lines, and gives you a lip that actually looks yours, just better. Think of it as a permanent stain instead of a liner. The healed result is that soft, blurred-edge flush you see here, not a hard tattoo look.

And yes, that reddish-orange pops even harder in real life. Camera sensors struggle to capture true lip pigment saturation, so what you're seeing here is actually a discount on the real result.

Watching this session come together is one of our favorite parts of what we do. Every stroke is placed individually using a single nano needle; the result is the illusion of real hair, down to the direction, thickness, and natural variation that makes brows look lived-in and effortless.

Nano Brows are done entirely with a machine, unlike traditional microblading that uses a manual blade. The ultra-fine needle deposits pigment with controlled depth; smoother healing, no blowouts, and results that hold their shape for years. Sometimes the best transformation is the one that makes you whisper "wait, is that still me?" 😍

This stunning before & after shows the power of Nano brows + Eyeliner working together.
