Our young scientists kicked off Day 1 with hands-on experiments, rocket launches, slime making, engineering challenges, and exciting STEM activities! From testing ideas to making discoveries, students learned by doing—and had an amazing time every step of the way.

The smiles, curiosity, and teamwork we saw today are exactly what science is all about! 🔬💡

🌱 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🐔🍅

At Star of the North Academy, we believe some of the best learning happens when students get their hands dirty. Our school garden and chicken coop give students the opportunity to plant, grow, harvest, and care for chickens while making meaningful connections to science, math, nutrition, agriculture, and environmental stewardship.

From picking fresh tomatoes and collecting eggs to learning responsibility by caring for chickens, these hands-on experiences build confidence, curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for where our food comes from. These are the kinds of lessons students remember for years to come.

We’re proud to offer learning experiences that go beyond the classroom and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated our Star of the North Academy 8th Grade Class of 2026! 🎓

These students have grown tremendously during their time at SNA—not only academically, but also as leaders, friends, and young adults. Their hard work and perseverance have brought them to this exciting milestone, and we couldn't be prouder.

As they begin high school, we know they will carry with them the knowledge, character, and confidence they have built here.

Today we celebrated a wonderful group of students who have grown so much this year. They entered Kindergarten as curious learners and are leaving as confident readers, writers, problem-solvers, and friends.

🌱🥗 Our Grade 8 students at Star of the North Academy proudly shared their Nutrition Awareness Campaign and STEM projects with representatives from the Minnesota Department of Education.

Students created posters, classroom presentations, and displays to encourage healthy eating and teach younger students about breakfast, healthy drinks, nutrition labels, and better food choices.

Their STEM projects explored topics like food and heart rate, dental health, calories, and turning food waste into compost and fertilizer.

We are proud of our students for showing leadership, creativity, and a passion for healthy living! 👏
