At Eastwood Elementary, we proudly follow the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework as part of East Alton School District #13’s commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and effective learning environment for ALL students.
PBIS is a proactive, data-driven system focused on:
✅ Teaching and reinforcing positive behavior
✅ Using data to guide behavioral supports
✅ Creating consistent school-wide expectations
🔹 Tier 1: All students are taught school-wide expectations through routines, modeling, and social-emotional learning.
🔹 Tier 2: Some students receive targeted support like Check-In/Check-Out or small group interventions.
🔹 Tier 3: A few students may need individualized, intensive behavior plans based on their specific needs.
By focusing on prevention instead of punishment, we help students build lifelong skills and support a positive school culture.
