The days of our youth may now be memories, but the classmates we shared them with will always hold a special place in our hearts.

As we remember our Class of ’81 classmate, Leland Watson, we hold his family in our thoughts and prayers. Leland was a steady, calming presence among us and a familiar face at our 30th reunion.

In honor of Leland and all those who have gone before us, may we be a little kinder, a little friendlier, and take a moment to truly connect when we see a classmate. Our time together, then and now, is a gift.

Once again in such a short time, we are sharing another passing of our classmate, Greg Ellenburg. To know Greg was a bright spot in an otherwise mundane day. He brought a sense of humor to an any situation that was often needed to escape the heaviness. Please remember his dad and sister as well as his beloved family and friends. It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our classmate, Anthony Massigill, on Tuesday, December 16. Anthony lived a life deeply committed to public service and to the well-being of others.

A service celebrating Anthony’s life will be held on Saturday at Clemson United Methodist Church, with receiving of friends at 2:00 p.m., followed by the service at 3:00 p.m.

Exiting a rewarding, complicated news career isn't easy, but I've had practice: Pam Sander Since a company merger, I’ve spent considerable time bringing together 21 daily newspapers, two twice-weeklies and five weeklies.

Our classmate, Vance Hunter, lost his battle with cancer on Christmas Eve. Please remember his mother, Cindy, as well as his wife, Mary, and siblings - Grant, Kirk (Class of 81), and Candy. A private celebration honoring his life was held over the holidays. May we always remember Vance fondly running the Green Wave flag at the ballgames, and his love for EHS.
