Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. πΊπΈβ€οΈ
Memorial Day is more than cookouts, long weekends, and the start of summer. Itβs a day to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and sacrifice of those who gave everything so we could enjoy the freedoms we have today.
As we spend time with our families, may we also take a moment to teach our children the importance of gratitude, service, and remembering the heroes who never made it home. β€οΈπ€π
From all of us at LABCS PTA, we wish your family a safe, meaningful, and blessed Memorial Day. πΊπΈβ¨

Tidbit #5 (Executive function + independence for summer)
π§ Tidbit Tuesday: Building Independence This Summer
Summer is a great time to build executive functioning skills in a low-pressure way.
Start small:
β let your child pack their own bag for outings
β create simple daily routines (morning, bedtime)
β use checklists instead of constant reminders
The goal isnβt perfection, itβs practice.
These everyday moments help build confidence, independence, and real-life skills π

Tidbit #4 (Transition into summer β keeping skills without burnout)
π§ Tidbit Tuesday: Preventing the Summer Slide
You donβt need hours of worksheets to keep skills strong over the summer.
Consistency matters more than intensity.
Try:
β 10β15 minutes of reading most days
β real-life learning (recipes, directions, shopping lists)
β audiobooks paired with print
Small, consistent practice helps maintain progress without turning summer into school !π
