Day 1 of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Junior Agricultural Mechanics Build-Off Challenge is officially in the books, and our FFA members absolutely crushed it. From the moment the clock started at noon, the headquarters parking lot was a blur of sparks, blue flame, and intense focus as teams from across the state raced against time to transform raw steel into precision-engineered projects.
Building under pressure is a completely different ballgame, but these students showed incredible teamwork, safety, and leadership through every single cut and weld. The first five hours are down, but the job is only half finished. The team is getting some rest tonight before the final stretch tomorrow morning. Day 2 kicks off early at 7:30 AM, and they have until midday to put the final touches on their builds before the judges step in.
Stay tuned for more updates as we push toward the final results and awards ceremony tomorrow afternoon.
