Getting kids involved in literacy is not hard… There are opportunities to invite reading and writing in to your family rhythm ALL AROUND YOU. 🌏

You introduce literacy by connecting with your child first.

You model for them.

Without being TEACHY.

You play with them.

You read to them and with them.

You CONNECT with them.

What are they interested in?

And then you let them lead☀️.

You are not TEACHING them to read.

You are doing something better: you are instilling the DESIRE to learn to read.

That desire = MAGIC✨.

This is a continuation of the reel that I just posted of Scott reading in the hammock.

Here you can see James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes (The Winter Soldier) and sitting in front of him across my torso is his brother Buster Bluth.

If you listen with your volume up, you can hear the spillway running very loudly due to the overwhelming rain that we just experienced in upstate New York.
