Methacton School District

Methacton School District The Methacton School District is a public school district in Pennsylvania that serves 4,600 students in Lower Providence and Worcester townships.

Methacton is a community of about 13,000 households located in a suburb of Philadelphia in southeastern Pennsylvania. The Methacton School District has long enjoyed a tradition of excellence in education and community involvement in our schools. The District, formed in 1969, was created by a 10-year merging of the school districts that had previously served the townships of Lower Providence and Wo

rcester. "Methacton" is an Native American word referring to the "hill" area extending from Eagleville in Lower Providence Township through the Fairview Village area of Worcester Township, one of the highest elevations in Montgomery County. The name was chosen by a majority vote of the community members residing in the District at the time. People make the difference for our children. The faculty and staff of the Methacton School District represent the very best that the field has to offer – dedicated individuals who are invested in the growth and success of our students. Approximately 75 percent of our faculty members have obtained advanced degrees. Many involve themselves in our students' educational experience beyond the classroom as club sponsors, advisers and coaches. Greater than ten percent are members of another elite group – they're Methacton alumni. A figure like that demonstrates true loyalty and a sincere desire to be a part of this community's future. Our dedicated support staff delivers integral services to our students throughout the school day and beyond. Each school year more than 5,000 students students are transported over 1.3 million miles by dedicated bus drivers and are greeted by nearly 800 exemplary educators and support staff. Our facilities include buildings totaling over 911,000 square feet of space on 214 acres and are maintained by a committed group of custodians and maintenance staff. These facilities include Methacton High School; Arcola Intermediate School; Skyview Upper Elementary School; Arrowhead, Eagleville, Woodland and Worcester elementary schools. This week, our staff took time to recognize colleagues who have made a meaningful impact in the past year—whether by lending a helping hand, offering encouragement or mentorship, or simply sharing a kind smile.

Each staff member wrote and delivered a thank-you note to someone who made a difference. These photos capture the appreciation, connection, and support that make Methacton such a special place to work and learn!

Welcome back, Methacton staff! Today, we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year together as one Methacton community. Staff were greeted by students with high-energy performances from the Methacton Band, Color Guard, and Cheerleading programs. Everyone connected with peers, district departments, and the Methacton Education Foundation. They also heard from Dr. Zerbe and district leaders about the meaningful impact they make in students’ lives each day and took time to recognize colleagues who made a difference last year by writing personal thank-you notes.

We look forward to a year of inspiring learning, connection, and growth for every Methacton student!

MHS Class of '27 is starting senior year in total style! Our seniors officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year by turning the parking lot into a showcase of custom designs. It was a true team effort, with parents, siblings, and friends coming out to help bring these painted spots to life!

While most students are enjoying the end of summer, our Community Cares high schoolers were hard at work preparing for the second year of the peer mentorship program! The group visited Ursinus College earlier this month for an intensive two-day orientation, where they engaged with guest speakers, honed their public speaking and leadership skills, and delivered practice teaching presentations to prepare for the year ahead.

As Community Cares peer mentors, these students will visit Skyview and Arcola classrooms each month to build meaningful connections and guide younger students through essential life skills that shape responsible, respectful citizens.

Thanks to Ursinus College, Methacton's Belonging and Climate Facilitator Michaela Zelli, and our partners for making sure our leaders are trained, inspired and ready to make an incredible impact this school year:

▪️ Leslie Slingsby, CEO of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center
▪️ Chade Darby, Methacton alum and PhD candidate at Cornell University
▪️ Kadida Kenner, founder and director of the New Pennsylvania Project
▪️ Freddy Shegog, keynote speaker
▪️ Representative Joe Webster
