Research shows that:
Students who attend class regularly earn higher grades, even when attendance isn’t part of the grade itself.
Chronically absent students are far less likely to meet state standards in math and reading than their peers who attend regularly.
In one statewide study, students with attendance at 90% or higher had about a 91% on-time graduation rate, compared with only 75% for students below 90% attendance.
Attendance is described as a “building block” of student achievement and high school graduation, because students can’t benefit from instruction, classroom discussion, or support services if they aren’t in school.

Better daily attendance → stronger understanding of course material → higher chances of passing classes.
Strong attendance throughout high school → much higher likelihood of earning a diploma on time and being prepared for college, career, or the military.
Families, you play a huge role in this success:
Schedule appointments outside of school hours when possible.
Help your student establish a regular sleep and morning routine.
