Freedom Coffee & Community ☕️

One of the things I love most about Freedom Academy is that community doesn’t stop with our students.

Once a month, right after drop-off, we’re creating space for our parents to stay for a bit, meet other families, connect, and simply spend time together.

No agenda. Nothing formal. No RSVP.

Bring your coffee, come as you are, stay for 10 minutes or the whole hour.

Because strong schools are built by more than great programs. They’re built by relationships. By families knowing one another. By parents having people to talk to, laugh with, pray with, and walk through life alongside.

That kind of community doesn’t happen by accident. We have to make room for it.

So on the last Thursday of each month from 9:00–10:00 AM, we’re doing exactly that. 🤍

There is something really special about Moms’ Night Out. 🤍

Yes, it’s a night to get out of the house. To laugh. To connect. To come exactly as you are, whether that means dressed up or straight from a long day of mom life.

But it’s become so much more than that.

When we built Freedom Academy, we knew we weren’t only building a school for kids. We were building a community for families. And community doesn’t happen just because people happen to drop their kids off at the same building every morning. It happens when we make space to actually know one another.

This night is part of that.

Some of these women knew each other before Freedom. Some met because their children landed in the same studio. Some walked into Moms’ Night Out barely knowing anyone and left with new friendships, phone numbers exchanged, conversations they didn’t know they needed, and a reminder that they’re not doing motherhood alone.

There’s no agenda. No pressure. Just women sitting around tables, laughing, talking about kids and marriage and work and life and faith, and building the kind of relationships that eventually spill over into carpools, playground conversations, prayer, meals when life gets hard, and families truly doing life together.

This is what school community can look like.

Our children get to watch their parents build friendships. They get to grow up surrounded by adults who know their names. And slowly, a school starts feeling less like a place you attend and more like a community you belong to.

I walked away from this night so grateful for these women and for every mom who walked through those doors.

Freedom Academy is about incredible education, absolutely.

But it has always been about something bigger too.

Raising kids. Building families. Creating community. Following Jesus. And doing all of it together. 🤍

There is something really special about seeing the people God has brought together to love, lead, teach, challenge, encourage, and pour into our kids. ❤️

So we thought it was time you got to know them a little better.

Meet the teaching teams behind our Freedom Academy studios. Different personalities. Different gifts. Different strengths. One shared mission.

These are the people praying over your children, noticing the little things, celebrating the breakthroughs, holding the boundaries, laughing alongside them, calling out who God created them to be, and showing up day after day with a heart to serve.

And that is one of my favorite things about Freedom.

We were never trying to build a school filled with teachers who all look, lead, or teach exactly the same way. We want a team whose gifts complement one another. A team that collaborates. A team that knows we are better together. A team united around the same purpose: to know every child, love them deeply, and help them become everything God created them to be.

Our first Chapel of Year Five. 🤍✨

There are a lot of things I want our kids to know when they leave Freedom Academy. But above all of it, I want them to know Jesus, know His Word, and understand what it actually looks like to live a life transformed by Him. 🙏🏼

Today, we began our year in The Well by introducing the Fruit of the Spirit 🍎🌿 and starting with the very first one: love. ❤️

Not the world’s definition of love. Not love as simply being nice, agreeable, or making people feel good.

Love according to God’s Word. 📖

Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It does not dishonor others. It isn’t self-seeking or easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. It rejoices with the truth. It protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres. ❤️

And ultimately, we know what love is because God is love.

This year, we are so grateful to welcome Noah as our new Youth Pastor and Director of Spiritual Life & Student Formation. 🙌🏼 His role is about so much more than leading a weekly Chapel. It is about intentionally discipling our students, helping form their character, grounding them deeply in Scripture, and continually pointing them back to Jesus as they discover who God created them to be. 🌱

Because our mission has never simply been to raise smart kids.

We are partnering with families to raise young men and women who know truth, love Jesus, walk in character, serve others, and have the courage to live differently because of Who they belong to. 🔥

And today, we started with love. ❤️

What would happen if an entire school of children didn’t just memorize the Fruit of the Spirit, but actually learned to live it? 🌿

That is the work.
That is the formation.
That is Freedom Academy. 🤍

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself around here. 🤍

I’m Ashley. I’m the founder of Freedom Academy, wife to Eric, and mama to the three kids standing here with us.

And five years ago, these three were a whole lot smaller when we said yes to something God had placed on our hearts.

Freedom Academy started because we believed there had to be another way to educate our children. A place where children could be known deeply, challenged individually, given room to move and create and discover, and taught to see every part of their lives through the truth of God’s Word.

We wanted an education that didn’t ask children to fit into a system, but instead asked, Who did God create this child to be, and how do we help them become that?

So we started.

And what began with our own family’s yes has become a community of families, incredible Guides, beautiful studios, worship and prayer, hard work, big ideas, muddy playground shoes, breakthroughs, friendships, laughter, and so many stories that only God could have written.

Today, we are beginning Year Five.

And these little kids who were there at the beginning? Brian is now 12 and in 7th grade. Easton is 11 and in 6th. Brooklyn is 6 and walking into 1st grade.

They’ve grown right alongside Freedom.

And so have I.

There have been a thousand moments over these five years when I have looked around and thought, Lord, You really did this.

Because Freedom Academy has never been about building my school.

It has always been about building His.

A school where Jesus isn’t an addition to the education. He is the foundation of it. Where we care deeply about academic excellence, but we know a child’s identity, character, calling, and relationship with Christ matter infinitely more than a test score.

So if you’re new here, welcome. 🤍

This is my family. This is the crazy, beautiful assignment God gave us five years ago. And it is one of the greatest privileges of my life to steward it.

We have no idea all that He has planned for Year Five.

But just like we did at the very beginning, we’re saying yes.

Freedom Academy belongs to Him.
These children belong to Him.
The story belongs to Him.

Our kids are back. Our campus is alive. Friends reunited, laughter everywhere, and YEAR FIVE is officially here.

Five years of watching God go before us, make a way, provide beyond what we could have imagined, and faithfully remind us that Freedom has always been HIS.

Every child. Every family. Every studio. Every friendship. Every little detail.

For His Kingdom. For His purposes. For His children. For His glory.

ALL FOR HIS GLORY. 🤍🙏

First day of school.

And somehow, in the middle of all the planning, preparing, building, praying, problem-solving, dreaming, stretching, and surrendering, it really does come back to something this simple:

It is all for His glory.

Every child who walks through our doors.
Every Guide who has said yes to this calling.
Every lesson taught. Every prayer prayed. Every scraped knee, breakthrough, hard conversation, belly laugh, worship song, friendship, and ordinary little moment in between.

It belongs to Him.

Freedom Academy was never ours. We are His.
This school is His.
These children are His.
This team is His.
This mission is His.

And today, as our buildings fill back up with the beautiful noise of children, I am praying that we don’t miss Him in it.

That we see God in the big things, yes, but especially in the unexpected little ones. The conversation in the hallway. The child who needs an extra minute. The breakthrough nobody else notices. The hug. The question. The laughter coming from the playground. The tiny moments that could so easily look ordinary, but are actually holy.

Because I believe He is in every little detail.

So here we go, Freedom Academy. Another school year. Another opportunity to steward what God has entrusted to us with open hands and expectant hearts.

May everything that happens within these walls point back to Jesus.

All for His glory. Down to every little detail. We are His. 🤍
