Alpenglow Elementary

A public K-5 -neighborhood school in the Anchorage School District. This provides a positive social environment for our students to learn and grow.

Our K-6 elementary school is nestled in the picturesque Eagle River Valley just 12 miles north of Anchorage. During the 2012-2013 school year we served 590 students in 23 classrooms including nearly 60% military. All ASD schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 16, due to freezing rain, icy roads, and high winds.

Due to projected freezing rain, icy roads, and high winds, all ASD schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 16. The Administration has consulted with the National Weather Service, Department of Transportation and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. All information indicates that driving in the morning hours and throughout the school day will be unsafe. Employees should follow emergency closure procedures for their building or department as outlined in the ASD Emergency Closure Plan or guidance from ASD Labor Relations.
