In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, students are exploring art inspired by Mexican and Latin American traditions!
This creative unit grew from PLC work led by the Hillside Elementary art teacher, whose work also inspired the art teacher at Eagle Rock Elementary and Lake Creek Learning Center. K-2 students created artwork inspired by artist Ines Alvidres, third graders made colorful papel picado, and fourth and fifth graders created hojalatas, Mexican folk art traditionally made with tin.
A great example of collaboration across EPSD9, bringing culture, creativity, and learning into our classrooms!
