Eagle Pass Public Library Eagle Pass Public Library provides quality materials and services that fulfill educational, info. Government.

According with the Eagle Pass News Guide published on February 27, 1997, at 1927 a group of women, who were studying art, music, literature, decided Eagle Pass should have a public library. On April 15, 1939, with the help of WPA labor, Maverick County erected a small building on Quarry St., housing 7,000 books. From 1939 to 1965 the Library was an Associated Library, supported by City and County

grants plus regular dues paid by the Association members. The City of Eagle Pass passed Ordinance 65-6 dated March 3, 1965 officially making the library a department of the City, to obtain the old Post Office building from the Federal Government, in addition, was stipulated the building would have to be properly used as a public library for at least 20 years requiring yearly reports to verify the use. If the library had not been maintained according to these requirements, it would have reverted to the U.S.

The Eagle Pass Public Library is sending our heartfelt support to fellow librarian Mychal Threets.

Mychal has inspired so many through his warmth, kindness, and love of libraries. We also want to recognize the courage it takes to be open about struggling with mental health and, most importantly, to seek help.

There is strength in asking for help. There is courage in saying, “I’m not okay,” and taking the steps toward becoming okay.

We are proud of Mychal for speaking openly about his journey and reminding others that seeking support is not a weakness—it is an act of bravery.

If you are struggling, please know that you are not alone. Reach out to someone you trust, seek professional support, or connect with resources in your community.

Libraries are places of knowledge, but they are also places of compassion, connection, and hope.

🧡🤘🏻🐂✨ Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating our amazing UT intern, Jeshua, during the Home to Texas Celebration!

Through the University of Texas at Austin internship program, Jeshua became an unforgettable part of the Eagle Pass Public Library family. From day one, he brought kindness, positivity, and a smile that brightened our workplace every day. He was incredible with our young readers, always willing to lend a helping hand, and made a lasting impact on both our staff and the families we serve.

Thank you, Jeshua, for your hard work, dedication, and the joy you brought to our library. We are truly grateful for everything you’ve done, and while we’ll miss you dearly, we know you have a bright future ahead. We wish you nothing but success as you continue pursuing your goals and dreams.

🎒📚 What an amazing Back to School Fair! ✨

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at the Eagle Pass Public Library to help kick off the new school year! It was wonderful seeing so many smiling faces as families enjoyed giveaways, school supplies, and community support.

We’d also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our local partners and everyone who helped make this event possible. Your generosity and support made a difference for so many students and families.
