Polk County Public Schools is seeking nominations for the District Advisory Council. The purpose of the council is to serve in an advisory role to the Superintendent and pay particular attention to the district's strategic plan goals for improving student performance and overall district improvement. Members also serve as a link between the district, schools and community. No duties or powers may be delegated to the DAC that are reserved by law to the School Board.PCPS employees are not eligible to serve on the District Advisory Council.
Committee membership is limited and requires a yearly commitment of six meetings during the school year to participate. This is an opportunity to get involved and join Polk County Public Schools to support the life changing work public education does for students.

We are excited to announce that this year we will be hosting a supply drive for frequently used classroom items that run low throughout the year. This is separate from our standard supply list, which will be posted soon. If you would like to pick up a few of these items while you’re out shopping in the coming weeks, we will be collecting items in the car line on 7/14 from 9-11 and 2-4, in hopes to stock up for the upcoming school year. We look forward to seeing our panther families roar as we work together to restore! 🩵💙🐾

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Jones for being out school’s overall Legoland Winner! She and her family will have the opportunity to visit and stay at the Legoland Resort and parks! Congratulations Mrs. Jones.

We would like to share with our families that Mr. Rios has accepted a new position as Principal of Purcell Elementary. While we are sad that he will be leaving Pinewood, we are so excited for him and this new adventure. Mr. Rios has poured into our students, staff and families serving as AP for the last four and a half years and we are so grateful for the impact that he has made. We know that he is going to do amazing things at Purcell and we are thankful Pinewood was a stepping stone to set him up to be a successful Principal.

Help us congratulate Mr. Rios, this is much deserved.

Seven years ago, Armando received the Fancelli Family Future Leaders Scholarship to Polk State at his 5th grade ceremony. This year, he is graduating with high honors and will be using the scholarship next year. We are so proud of him and all of our former panthers graduating this year! Way to go Armando!
