Pilot Knob STEM Magnet School A K-4 Magnet elementary school with a focus on Science, Technology,Engineering and Math.

Our STEM focus encourages students to design, build, and create things with others as part of their daily learning and helps them gain the skills they need to be successful in today's increasingly technological society. Through an integrated approach to learning, students use math and science themes to build skills in reading, art, music, social studies, and more. When interacting with the community through Facebook, the district seeks to maintain a safe, respectful and supportive environment. To that end, the District has established the following guidelines: http://www.isd197.org/common/pages/DisplayFile.aspx?itemId=16101962

Get your walking shoes ready, Wednesday is our beloved WALK/BIKE to school day! Each Fall and Spring we meet at the Eagan Community Center and walk as a school to PK. Families are welcome to join us! Buses will drop students off at the community center, and parents and guardians are encouraged to drop students off there to join their classmates.

We're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at PK by highlighting amazing STEM contributions and inventions from Hispanic scientists and engineers (you can thank Guillermo González Camarena for the invention of the Color Television!) and reading stories like "Maybe Something Beautiful" by Spanish author Isabel Campoy with Theresa Howell, illustrated by Mexican illustrator Rafael Lopez.

We'd also like to take a moment to thank our incredible Cultural Liaisons, Elizabeth Olmos and Ybeth Jimenez, who help make our community such a special place. Our school wouldn't be the same without you!

See you tomorrow for a great day of learning!
