Childcare providers are required to have a COVID plan, and it is based on MDH REQUIREMENTS . You will find that ALL licensed providers will not accept your child in care if symptomatic at all. The length of exclusion is based on the following chart. No OTC fever reducing medications. We are excluding via symptom vs. cause. If a child is not 100 percent symptom free, you must follow these guidelines. Please be gentle with your provider if your child is turned away from care. Your provider is obligated to keep the group, as a whole, safe and well.
This is not merely a recommendation. These practices are guidance from both the CDC and MDH and in May, Governor is Requiring child care programs to adhere to CDC/MDH guidance. We don’t have a choice in the matter. It’s a tough spot to be in as a childcare provider though as this guidance was not explained to parents. We are having to educate and enforce.
