The Ridge has a way of staying with you.

Huntley Galleher '80, Baron Advancement Officer, recently sat down with Taylor Durham '92 at Elon University's Schar Center, where Taylor serves as Business Development Manager.

Taylor holds Blue Ridge School close. He credits his time on the Ridge with giving him the academic foundation that opened the door to Elon - and that gratitude has never faded.

Taylor comes from a family deeply rooted in sports broadcasting. His father, the legendary Woody Durham, was the beloved Voice of the Tar Heels for decades. His brother Wes Durham is a familiar voice on ESPN and the radio play-by-play voice for the Atlanta Falcons.

It was a wonderful reconnection, and Taylor is already making plans to visit campus. We cannot wait to welcome him back to the Ridge!

From Marseille to Japan - the Baron brotherhood knows no borders.

Eliott Nahon '25 (pictured center) was traveling in Japan this summer when he linked up with fellow Barons Yukihiro Kawaguchi '24 (pictured right) and Yodai Yamaji '25 (pictured left) - brought together by their shared home on the Ridge, no matter where in the world they roam.

This is what it means to be a Baron for life!

One month in. Already thriving.

Michael Roman '26 is a month into preseason football at Virginia Military Institute, and the days are full and demanding. But Michael says his time at Blue Ridge prepared him for exactly this - the mindset, the discipline, and the relentless grind of D1 college athletics.

On his one day off this past Sunday, he kept it simple: laundry and a quick lunch with Director of Admissions Angela Jackson Mapetla. That is the kind of relationship Blue Ridge builds.

Keep going, Michael! Baron Forever!

There’s nothing better than welcoming Barons back home!

It was great to have Eric Strasser ’08 back on campus today. Eric was one of the first people Anderson Moss ‘11 met as an incoming freshman at Blue Ridge School, making today’s visit even more meaningful. Accompanied by his dog, Eric spent time exploring the campus and reconnecting with a place that will always feel like home.

The door is always open for Alumni to return for a visit!

The Ridge reaches all the way to Fort Worth.

This week, Senior Director of Institutional Advancement JC Ignaszewski made the trip to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to connect with alumni and alumni families. One of the highlights was lunch with Mitch Bell '84 (pictured right) - a loyal Baron and good friend to Blue Ridge School.

Mitch has built an impressive career since leaving St. George. He flies the Boeing 787 for American Airlines and serves as a Flight Instructor for the airline as well. Over some incredible fried chicken at one of his favorite Fort Worth spots, Mitch and JC caught up on life, family, and all that is happening on the Ridge.

Thank you, Mitch, for your continued support and for always welcoming Blue Ridge with open arms. This is what Baron loyalty looks like.

The Baron brotherhood showed up on the lacrosse field in Savannah this summer.

Finn Greer '24 reached out to let us know he ran into Billy Groves '95 at a summer lacrosse league — two Barons, three decades apart, connected by the same sport they both played on the Ridge.

And here is a fun piece of Blue Ridge history: Billy Groves was the school's first legacy student. His father, Bobby Groves, graduated from Blue Ridge in 1967 - making the Groves family the first to pass the Baron tradition from father to son.

From 1967 to 1995 to 2024 - the thread runs long.

Class of 2014 meets Class of 2024 - somewhere in Colorado.

George Kersey ‘14 and Casper Corsello ‘24 had never met before. Ten years apart, a thousand miles from St. George, and yet one conversation was all it took to realize they shared the same home on the Ridge.

The Baron brotherhood has a way of showing up when you least expect it.

From St. George to Greece - the Baron brotherhood travels far.

This summer, Odisseu Botnari ‘26 and Victor Schlosser ‘25 made the trip to visit Pavlos Zougris ‘26 in his home country of Greece. Victor joined Blue Ridge two years ago as an ASSIST Exchange Student, where the three first crossed paths. Now, on the other side of graduation, they are reminiscing about their time on The Ridge and looking ahead to the next chapter.

And what a next chapter it is! Pavlos heads to Dickinson College. Odisseu will study European and Global Affairs at the University of Bologna in Italy and KU Leuven in Belgium - ranked among the top 40 universities in the world. Victor is off to the University of Heidelberg to study Law.

Three young men. Three countries. Three world-class institutions. And a friendship that started on a mountain in Virginia.

This is what Blue Ridge builds.
