Why I Love Tutoring
Last year, I ran into a former tutoring student at a local ice cream shop. He introduced me to his wife and two children as his tutor, who was the reason he could become an architect, because he wouldn’t have been able to do all of that math. He, himself, is actually the reason he could be successful, and I just helped him fill in the learning gaps, little math concepts that he might have missed along the way. You see, by the time you get to physics and chemistry, to fully understand the science, you need to understand the math concepts… trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and sometimes calculus.
I love working with students, especially when they get that look on their face and the body language that shows that they understand. That light bulb above their heads shown in comics is actually an expression on their faces. They relax and just learn. That gives me great joy. My degrees are in mechanical and aerospace engineering, but my passion is tutoring and teaching.
