While summer may be winding down, REF’s grantmaking continues year‑round. Check out our recent grants awarded:
🔬 Digital Microscopes for Riverview Kindergarten Classrooms
Kindergarten teams at Cherry Valley, Carnation, and Stillwater will soon receive digital microscopes to deepen hands-on science lessons. These microscopes are designed for little hands and will support key science units, from trees and weather in the fall to birds in the spring, helping students observe, investigate, and build curiosity through real‑world discovery.
🎺 Instruments to Support the Return of 5th Grade Band
This fall, our district is reinstating the 5th grade band program across all elementary schools - a true collaboration between High School Music Director Nick Sasse, 5th Grade Band Director Carrie Keller, building principals, and district leadership. These instruments will be available to students who may not be able to purchase or rent their own, ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate. We can’t wait to hear the music these instruments bring to our schools.
