A very successful District 2 horse show yesterday. 5 members and ponies competed well in 19 classes. Patterns executed (13), ponies professionally turned out(5), teamwork and support exhibited ✅ 3 members have elected to move forward to the State horse show after qualifying. Beautiful day ending with a rainbow 🌈!

Third meeting of the year is Tuesday, June 16th at NorthWoods Farm. Dr. Allison from Stoney Creek Veterinary Clinic is coming to do dentals on some of our horses! Learn what floating teeth is, how to age a horse, and the tools used by the vet for equine dentistry. 1030am for Clover Buds, 11am entire club meeting. Wear boots to work with the horses.

The Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Safety Program promotes safety of youth while working with horses and safety awareness in youth, parents, leaders, and educators.

The Safety Awards program promotes safety by recognizing the efforts of youth and adults in creating and delivering equine safety programs.

The award is open to all youth and adults involved with the 4-H Horse Program who have conducted significant equine safety programs during the past two years.
Programs may include, but are not limited to: Children, Emergency Preparedness, Farm/Ranch, Health/First Aid, School, and Recreation.

Safety program must have been conducted from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026

Great job everyone! Our second meeting is in the books for 2026. An amazing amount of info was covered tonight. The first portion included barn, helmet, horse and stall safety. Officers were voted for. Congratulations Savannah, President, Quinn, Vice President, Ayal, Treasurer, Lila, News Reporter, Sadie, Secretary. We then discussed what a bit is and does. Our returning members then delved deep into the world of bits! We covered over 25 bits, the hows and whys, it was an intense hour, but we only scratched the surface. Impressed with the knowledge gained, prizes to be awarded next meeting! 1st Quinn Pennella , 2nd Marayna Girven 3rd Lila Pedro 4th-6th Ayla Swift, Katherine Connor & Savannah Ely.

Hay! Next meeting is Tuesday, June 2nd, at NorthWoods Farm in Colley. All new members and Cloverbuds should meet at 6pm, full meeting starts at 6:30. Everyone should come dressed to work around horses, no flipflops!

Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 2nd at 6pm for Cloverbuds and 6:30pm for everyone at NorthWoods Farm 15590 Rt 87 Dushore, PA 18614. 4H members and horses must be enrolled by June 1st. Coggins and Rabies certificate is due by July 1st. Questions call Sandy at the Office.

June 1st will be here before you know it!

June 1 means, horse enrollment forms are due in the extension office.

The 4-H Horse Project Enrollment Form should be used in conjunction with the standard 4-H Member Enrollment process. The 4-H member must be enrolled online in compliance with county policy.

⚠️Some counties may have differing deadlines for completion of project enrollment. Please work with your extension educator.
