Week of the Young Child! Sullivan County PreK had a very busy week!
Monday, Miss Autumn visited from Penn State Extension and talked to the students about Healthy Foods. We listened to the Book “ Eating the Alphabet” They got to opportunity to try fig, mango, sugar snap pea, cucumber, pepper, and lime. We finished up drawing placemats.
Tuesday, Lawrence’s Papa, Ralph Roloson, from Roloson Brother’s Maple Syrup came and talked to the students about maple syrup and how it is made. Students got to try maple syrup and soft maple candy.
Wednesday, Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Benson and Mrs. Peterman came read “Bell’s Big Move” and “ I am TOO absolutely small for school”. Students also drew self portraits.
Thursday, Sullivan County Dairy Promotion Team- Gaige, Lillie, and Hailey, along with Sullivan County Fair Queen, Bethany visited. Students enjoyed a story and had lots of fun learning about dairy products! Bethany talked about the Sullivan County Fair, all the animals and fun things to do there!
Friday, Miss Sarah from the Sullivan County Library came and talked about students favorite cookie flavors, students then had to vote for their favorite cookie. She read “ The Great Cookie Kerfuffle” afterwards and students got to help make cookie dough dip and enjoy it with vanilla wafers.
