When I’ve come to pick up ___________ she has gotten into the car, strapped in, looked at me with a big goofy grin and said “That was so much fun!” 🩷

🏠 Carolina Collegiate’s FIRST House Sorting is officially underway!

The teachers might be having just as much fun with this as the students. The energy in the building is HIGH — especially for a Friday afternoon at the end of our very first week of school!

But our students will have to wait just a little longer. 👀

On Monday, our founding students will find out which House has chosen them:

🔹 GAUDIUM
🔹 GRATIA
🔹 AUDACIA

Fun fact: The school House System has roots in British boarding schools, where Houses created smaller communities within a larger school. Today, schools around the world use House systems to build belonging, mentorship, friendly competition, leadership, and school spirit.

At Carolina Collegiate, our Houses will become part of our culture and traditions — and this first group of students gets to help define what each House will become.

Today, a dream years in the making became a reality. ✨🏫

We officially opened our doors and welcomed our founding class to school! From the moment students walked through the doors, the energy, excitement, and determination in the room were palpable.

Our mission is simple yet bold: to provide an advanced, STEM-driven, and college-focused high school experience that students truly cannot get anywhere else. Today, we laid the very first bricks of that foundation for their futures. 🚀💡

This milestone would not have been possible without our incredible community. A huge THANK YOU to our dedicated families, steadfast supporters, generous funders, and the Office of Charter Schools for believing in this vision and helping us bring it to life.

Here’s to the start of an extraordinary journey! 💙📚

During the final week before school starts, the CCHS staff prepared for just about anything a school day might send our way!

Our team completed CPR and AED training with Kevin Wilson. CCHS now has a newly installed AED in the school, along with additional AEDs dedicated to our athletics programs.

A big thank-you to Fire Marshal Cates for teaching our staff how to properly use a fire extinguisher. And yes—it’s always a little more fun when the training includes live fire! 🔥🧯

Fun fact: The first modern portable fire extinguisher was developed by British inventor Captain George William Manby in the early 1800s. More than 200 years later, it remains one of the most important pieces of safety equipment in any building.

📸🦉 Our Carolina Collegiate Founding Staff and Athletic Department had a little fun with the camera before Friday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony!

One week of professional development is officially complete, with one more to go. Then our Founding Owls arrive, the hallways come alive, and the real adventure begins.

Will everyone still be smiling after the students arrive? We certainly hope so. Just kidding—we’re ready for them! 😄

The countdown is on. One more week until we make history together!

🎉🦉 The Dream Is Now a Reality!

Last night, Carolina Collegiate welcomed the Class of 2030 into their new school!

We officially cut the ribbon—and then the celebration began. Our building was filled with excitement, joy, laughter, and plenty of smiles as our founding families walked through the doors and saw the dream of CCHS come to life.

This was more than a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It was the beginning of a new school, a new community, and an unforgettable journey for our Founding Owls.

Thank you to all our CCHS families who joined us and helped make the evening so special. You believed in the vision, and now we get to build the future together.

Class of 2030—your school is ready. Let’s make history!

🦉 Our Founding Owls Are Already at Work!

School has not even started, but our founding student-athletes are already training hard for the fall season. Volleyball and golf are off to a strong start, and these young ladies are learning that success requires more than talent. It takes accountability, dedication, teamwork, and leadership.

Athletics and academics work together to develop confident, disciplined, and resilient young adults. The lessons learned in the classroom and through competition prepare students to lead long after the final whistle.

In nature, owls are known for their focus, patience, and ability to see what others may miss. Our Founding Owls are developing those same qualities as they prepare for the classroom, competition, and the future.

The season is just beginning—and so is our story.

We started the week with final finishes and cleaning—and now, technology and furniture are being staged throughout the building.

Over the next week, these spaces will become classrooms, the hallways will come to life, and the building will officially begin to feel like a school.

The countdown is on. Carolina Collegiate is almost ready to welcome our Founding Class!
