For seventy-five years, UNH’s Summer Youth Music School (SYMS) has provided an opportunity for students to share their passion for music with other talented musicians in a supportive and engaging environment, studying with outstanding teachers and freelance artists from around the country. During the camp, students engage in a daily schedule of exciting and varied classes. Campers concentrate on a

major instrument or voice part and choose electives to broaden their experience. They participate in large ensembles (band, choir, orchestra), master classes, chamber groups, jazz ensembles, and other stimulating and challenging courses designed to improve their technique and musical understanding. Students and faculty also perform a variety of free evening recitals throughout the sessions and each session concludes with a final concert.

CHAMBER INTENSIVE AUDITIONS DEADLINE EXTENDED!!

All SYMS campers are also eligible for our Chamber Intensive session, which runs on July 20th and 21st, immediately prior to Senior SYMS. These two extra days are at NO COST to campers. You only have to prepare a video audition and be selected for an ensemble. We will form small chamber music groups of all types… vocal, jazz (combo), woodwind, brass, percussion, strings, piano, etc.!

Please visit our webpage and scroll down until you reach the Chamber Intensive section. The light blue, dark blue, and orange balloons are clickable links that will take you to information about the audition process (video recording) and the submittal process.

The audition date has been extended to June 9th.
