Let’s celebrate the success of our 2026 International Baccalaureate students!

36 Hornets earned college credit through their International Baccalaureate exam scores. And as the only high school in Durham that offers the International Baccalaureate Program, that success carries extra weight for our school and our district.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with International Baccalaureate: it is a college preparatory program offering college level courses used in thousands of schools worldwide, built around the idea that students should learn to think critically and write clearly, not just memorize for a test. Universities around the world view students who complete the program highly and typically provide college credit.

This year, six of our seniors did more than earn credit, they fulfilled the requirements for the International Baccalaureate Diploma; over two years they earned college credit in six subject areas, wrote an independent research essay, completed a course on critical thinking, and undertook hours of community service. Please join us in congratulating our 2026 IB Diploma recipients:
