A special congratulations to Dr. Joshua Mallory on his appointment as Director of Employee Relations. Thank you for your dedicated leadership and service to the Hillside High School community. Your impact has been meaningful, and we wish you continued success in your new role.

We are also excited to welcome Mr. Rashard Lee-Worthy as the new principal of Hillside High School! We look forward to the vision, leadership, and opportunities that lie ahead as we continue working together to support our students.

We are proud to share that Hillside High School student Imyrion Scott was selected to serve on the student panel at the Durham Public Schools Leadership Retreat. District and school leaders had the opportunity to hear directly from students about their experiences in DPS, and Imyrion represented Hillside with thoughtfulness, confidence, and authenticity.

One of his most impactful comments was, “Teachers should never have strangers walking in their classroom.” He emphasized the importance of teachers truly knowing their students and building meaningful relationships. Imyrion shared that he has been fortunate to have teachers at Hillside who genuinely “see” him and support his success.
