Hornet scholars took a trip to Duke School of Medicine and visited their simulation labs where they toured the facility and learned about Duke’s surgical program and equipment. The students practiced different skills from suturing, practicing with laparoscopic instruments, and the robotic surgical equipment as well. Students learned about general anesthesia and had the opportunity to try their first hands on attempt at intubation on a simulation mannequin who they affectionately named “George”.
